Prof. Dr hab. n. med. Hubert Huras

Vice-president of the Polish Society of Gynecologists and Obstetricians

Head of the Clinical Department of Obstetrics and Perinatology at the University Hospital in Krakow and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Perinatology at the Jagiellonian University - Collegium Medicum. Since 2014, he has been a regional consultant for obstetrics and gynecology. In March 2015, he was the first in Lesser Poland to obtain a specialization in perinatology. He is the author or co-author of 117 scientific publications in Polish and foreign medical journals. He received the Palmer Award (as the only one in Poland) for the best scientific report during the 15th Congress of the European Society for Gynecological Endoscopy. France. He was a promoter in three completed doctoral theses and a reviewer in six doctoral theses. Currently, he is a promoter in two open doctoral procedures and a tutor of students. The main directions of his research are the importance of tricuspid regurgitation in pregnancy, metabolism of angiotensins in the placenta, the role of DHEA, omega 3 and pentoxifylline in the treatment of pre-eclampsia, evaluation of the effectiveness of various methods of pre-induction of vaginal delivery, evaluation of free fetal DNA in the pre-induction of pre-eclampsia. He is a member of the Polish Society of Perinatal Medicine, the Polish Society of Psychology and Prenatal and Perinatal Medicine, the Society for Family Development, the Polish Gynecological Society and the European Association of Perinatal Medicine.

President of the Polish Society of Perinatal Medicine

A gynecologist with many years of experience, he received the title of habilitated doctor and then associate professor at the Medical University of Lodz. An outstanding specialist in obstetrics, gynecology and perinatology, President of the Polish Society of Perinatal Medicine, Chairman of the Łódź Branch of the Polish Society of Gynecologists and Obstetricians, Head of the Department of Perinatology, 1st Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Medical University of Lodz, Head of the Department of Perinatology and the Delivery Block of the Provincial Specialist Hospital. M. Pirogowa in Lodz. He is the author of 134 full-text papers and 160 conference summaries, as well as the author or co-author of 10 chapters in textbooks. The main directions of his research are perinatal epidemiology, prevention and early diagnosis of preterm birth, fetal hypotrophy, environmental causes of selected pregnancy pathologies, immunological and infectious factors affecting the course and outcome of pregnancy.
